The Table will forever hold my heart as my favorite brunch spot in San Jose. Located in Downtown Willow Glen, The Table has been serving brunch, dinner, and cocktails that are almost too beautiful to consume. The first time I went to The Table, I helped myself to bottomless mimosas and french toast, but this time, I went the savory route and ordered the Scotch Egg and a Salmon Tartine.
The Salmon Tartine was perfectly proportioned (and only $3!) to satisfy my lox craving. It came on a small slice of crunchy sourdough, and was topped heavily with salmon and a slab of cream and butter.
This was the first time I’ve ever had a Scotch Egg, and it definitely won’t be my last! I sliced into the Scotch Egg, which was fried and crispy on the outside, but soft and full of warm, drippy yolk. Together with the roasted vegetables, marinara sauce, and arugula, the Scotch Egg was a delicious savory twist to a typical egg breakfast.
My friend Sarah, who was visiting The Table for the first time, ordered the classic Eggs Benedict, which came topped with thick slabs of Canadian bacon, dill infused hollandaise sauce, and a heaping side of hash browns.
Everything on this table was to die for. The milk came in a cute, tiny carafe, which of course I couldn’t stop obsessing over. The interior of the restaurant is rustic and made mostly of wood and brick walls – one of the tables was even an old-fashioned workbench fashioned into a table! The Table recently opened a bar and patio area, which doubled the size of it’s constantly crowded main room.
The Table is a must-eat place if you find yourself in Downtown Willow Glen – just get here early for brunch, since bottomless mimosas end at 2!
