Fifty/Fifty, in the Richmond on Geary and Spruce, may be the cafe with the best and most variety of drinks that I’ve visited so far.
While their pastry selection was a bit small, consisting of a few croissants and assorted Dynamo donuts, their drink menu ranged from coffees and teas, to slushies including boba (after 12PM).
The donuts were extremely dense and decadent, and were more of a dessert than a breakfast snack. My friends were curious about the Bacon Donut, so they ordered one and each took a thick chunk.
The donut itself was very dense, and although the bacon was plentiful, it took away from the maple glaze and the overall sweetness of the donut.
I stuck to the drink that I ordered, which was the Matcha Green Tea Latte, iced.
Being the coffee addict that I am, I decided to change it up a bit and order the Matcha Green Tea Latte. I’ve only ever remembered having them at Starbucks, which were always too sweet and too milky. This one had more of a balance, and was the perfect drink with a small caffeine kick on this surprisingly hot San Francisco day.
My friend also ordered the Matcha Green Tea Latte, and the others ordered a Mango slushie with boba, and a cold brew. The Mango slushie, which was a mango puree with crushed ice and boba, tasted fresh and rich, without any artificial flavoring. The cold brew had the right touch of bitterness in the espresso, which contrasted the sweetness of the other drinks.
The interior and the exterior were both hip and cute, with wooden surfaces and a small row of succulents lining the outside wall.
I would definitely go back to Fifty/Fifty at any point in the day, as they have drinks for every palette (except alcohol!) and can even be consumed with boba in adorable mason jars.
