While making a pit stop on my way down to SoCal for the holidays, my friend Katie suggested Huckleberry for a Sunday brunch.
Located on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica, Huckleberry is a local favorite for pastries, breakfast foods, and lunch items.
As if reading the menu isn’t enough to make you salivate, they tease and taunt you with the sweet pastries and breads as you wait in line to order. Huckleberry bakes simple cookies and delectable cakes, as well as cinnamon rolls, fruits tarts, scones, and biscuits.
After successfully making it past the pastry bar without ordering a cinnamon roll, I caved and got the fig tart – for brunch dessert, of course.
Because of my weakness for smoked salmon, I ordered the Salmon Tartine, which came on Huckleberry’s country bread. The meal was light, fresh, and left just enough space for the fig tart!
My friends orderd the Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Burrito, and the Marinated Peppers & Gioia Burrata Sandwich. Huckleberry also boasts their Green Eggs & Ham, as well as a Fried Egg Sandwich, Poached Eggs, and various salads. Huckleberry also uses all California-grown ingredients and produce, getting produce and poultry from all over the state.
